# RenameItem

> Rename a project (shown as a folder in the app) or an AI chat.

# RenameItem

Rename a project (shown as a folder in the app) or an AI chat. Renaming a project requires edit access; renaming an AI chat requires owning it. Use RenameDocument for documents and tasks, and RenameChannel for channels.

## Parameters

| `entityType` | `"project"` \| `"chat"` | Yes | The kind of item to rename. |
| `entityId` | string | Yes | The id of the item to rename. |
| `name` | string | Yes | The new name. |
