# DeleteDocumentComment

> Delete a comment or reply on a document.

# DeleteDocumentComment

Delete a comment or reply on a document. Deleting the first comment of a thread deletes the whole thread with its replies. Authors can delete their own comments, and the document owner can delete any comment. This cannot be undone. Comment ids come from the comments ReadContent returns. Use only when the user explicitly asks to delete a comment; use ResolveDocumentComment to close a thread instead.

## Parameters

| `documentId` | string | Yes | The id of the document the comment is on. |
| `commentId` | string | Yes | The id of the comment or reply to delete, from ReadContent. Pass the thread id to delete the whole thread. |
